Cheryl Canfield
Cheryl’s passion for education began in her teens and led her to earn a Bachelor’s in Education with a minor in Math.
Now a children’s author, Cheryl’s latest book encourages creativity to overcome boredom and includes fun Reading and Math follow up activities. She also offers engaging author visits to schools, combining storytelling with hands-on learning.

Author Visits
Cheryl Canfield, author of Cousins’ Countryside Weekend, offers interactive presentations that spark creativity and connect directly to classroom learning. Her sessions include story readings, student Q&A, and fun Reading and Math activities. Author visits are available for grades K–5 and can be tailored to fit your school’s needs. Cheryl is based near Georgetown, Texas, and travels to schools locally and beyond. Half-day and full-day visit options are available, with discounts for multi-school or multi-day bookings. Lesson plans, coloring pages, and book bundles are also available to enhance the experience. Below are some details about services, pricing, travel, or budget-friendly options.

$400 for two programs, available for schools less than 45 miles from Georgetown, Tx.
Local Full day Author visit
$600 for four programs, available for schools less than 45 miles from Georgetown, Tx.

Cheryl travels from her home near Georgetown, Texas.
Travel and lodging fees may be shared between schools when visits are booked on consecutive days.
Schools can coordinate an Author’s visit with several schools in the district to split travel expenses.
Up to 1-hour drive- No travel fees
1-1.5 hour drive- $0.70/ mile (or current IRS rate)
1.5+ hour drive- $0.70/mile travel fee (or current IRS rate) and safe and clean hotel accommodations. Hotel accommodations and mileage may be shared between schools, if applicable.
Up to 1-hour drive- No travel fees

1.5+ hour drive- $0.70/mile travel fee (or current IRS rate or a flight) in addition to safe/clean hotel accommodations.

Cousins’ Countryside Weekend Correlating Lesson Plans
TEACHERS & HOMESCHOOL FAMILIES
Teachers and homeschool families can extend the learning with Cousins’ Countryside Weekend by using the accompanying lesson plans designed to support core subjects. Correlating activities are available for 2nd–5th grade Language Arts, 2nd–3rd grade Math, and 4th–5th grade Math. For added convenience, a Lesson Plan Bundle includes all Language Arts and Math plans for grades 2–5.
